Men are not appreciated enough. The world has too many demands from them. Unspoken rules and responsibilities yet, take no time to thank them for the roles they play in our lives. They fight and defend, show strength even at their weakest and take in the ungratefulness that the world gives to them in return. A man compared to others would easily be suspected of being a crook even when he hasn’t done anything. It is a stereotype that the first suspect to any crime would be a man. Willing to sacrifice their lives to save others. Men offer themselves on the frontlines of disasters to help. In case of any disaster even when they do not know the people involved, they would put their lives at risk in trying to offer help.
They rarely show their emotions because they are taught from a young age that showing emotions is a sign of weakness. They hold in their troubles until they cannot do it anymore, which ends in tragedy. These demands bring out the worst in men. Even without them having the intention to upset anyone. No man would want to feel inadequate, which they are usually not, but the society bullies them into thinking that they are. Sometimes we need to let them catch a break. So, if you have a problem with a particular man, that is a personal issue, no need to put the blame on the innocent, hardworking ones.
Before you hate on a man, remember, men are our sons. There are a ton of songs about sons. The song ‘My wish’ by Rascal Flatts is dedicated to the sons. That they may have all their dreams come true. That life becomes everything they have ever wanted. Sons, I hope you know you are loved and appreciated. Men are our sons. They work ultra-hard to make the future we see in them come to pass. They would always want to impress us. Sons do everything to make sure they do not disappoint their families. They take the responsibility of their fathers and fill in bigger shoes. The lyrics to James Blunt’s Monster speak of how when sons grow up, they reverse roles with their fathers. They take care of their families and siblings even better than their fathers did for them.
Men are our brothers. Having a brother is a blessing. No human on earth will fight for you the way a brother does. A brother will come through for you no matter the situation, no questions asked. They are willing to sacrifice their lives to make sure that you are happy. Brothers make you laugh and make sure you never shed a tear. Avicii’s song Hey brother, reminds us of how in our toughest moments our brothers are the ones who would come through for us. There’s nothing on earth that they can’t do to save you. They got your back. Even when you don’t think anyone cares about you, brothers will always sacrifice anything for you. I hope they know they are appreciated.
Men as husbands love, defend, protect and provide. Men will make sure we never struggle. Something as little as sharing their jackets with a loved one, while staying cold speaks volumes of what they are willing to sacrifice. They would literally risk getting sick for you. The lyrics to the song ‘if tomorrow never comes’ by Ronan Keating talk about how much a man cares even in their afterlife. They are unsure that you will be loved the way you deserve to when they are not around to give you the kind of love you deserve. Husbands have a god-tier self-control. You will throw punches at them, insult them and despite all that they won’t lay a finger on you. You may get to the most sensitive and touchy part of their souls but they keep their cool. You will hurt them when you hurt but they will always stand for you. A man only asks to be loyally loved like Bonnie did Clyde. Every Clyde needs a Bonnie in their lives. Michael Bolton’s ‘when a man loves a woman’ shows the sacrifices men are willing to take for love. They are ready to love with all their being. Unfortunately, there are those that will take advantage of them without any regard to the struggle and the work they put in just for love. A man is so considerate that the stress they get from work or other daily activities will not affect him home and family. He leaves it all out and takes care of his woman’s emotional needs first.
A father is the greatest gift you would ever ask for. A father is always concerned for the future of his children. A father is somebody who would do anything including denying himself a well-deserved luxury for the sake of his children. He always knows what is best and will defend you like a lioness and his cubs. A father is always proud of the little achievements. Words aren’t enough to express how much a father would sacrifice. They are not afraid to go through the mud to provide as long as his children come first. He might own only a pair or two of pants but his children will have the best that money can buy. This is an example of the kind of sacrifice a father is willing to take for his children. A father is a defender and helps you out when you are in trouble. Luther Vandross’s song ‘Dance with my father’ shows how a father loves his children. A father will comfortingly show you how to follow the rules. He will rebuke with love only because he wants the best for you.
